Guitarist Jody Williams, an old associate of Howlin’ Wolf, Elmore James's or Otis Spann, returned to the music scene after a conscious abstention of about 30 years!
One of the main representatives of the Chicago Blues, he was singled out for his unique style. His guitar was heard on many albums and singles of the 50's and 60's like “Who do you love” of Bo Diddley, “Forty four”, “Evil is going on” of Howlin’ Wolf, “I wish you would” of Billy Boy Arnold, “Three times a fool” of Otis Rush.
In the late 60's he retired dissapointed with the music industry, as many of his works were copied by other musicians without getting himself the rights and the corresponding recognition. He took the final decision when the distinctive riff of “Billy Blues” was appropriated by Mickey & Sylvia in the great success “Love Is Strange” and his label “Chess” lost on trial. He worked as a technical engineer and returned after thirty years with two albums and concerts, which won great reviews and brought him back on track.
