Operatic singer and pianist Tenorman, George Tziouvaras, was singing only with big orchestras and Voodoo Drummer, Chris Koutsogiannis, was performing around the world with Jazz bands. When they decided to mix the two “dissimilar” genres they served, jazz and opera, the result was particularly interesting.
The band made their first performance in May with the name Opera Chaotique and has since played in successful concerts in Berlin, Barcelona, Belgrade and of course Athens. They have recorded the musical comedy “Jazz Up Opera Show” for the radio and they are currently recording the CD “Poems of a Dirty Old Man” with prototype music in poems by Charles Bukowski.
Two young men eager for experimentation and in high spirits are self sarcastic, they improvise, joke and have fun with the audience without a trace of pomposity. They present known themes of opera, jazz, cabaret, set to music poems of Bukowski by themselves and tell their stories in a unique way. Impressive with masks, hats and cloaks they invite the Phantom of the Opera on stage, are talking about Don Juan who hunts Carmen, about Figaro and travel us in the streets of New Orleans and Berlin. Several guests appear with them, who participate in the magical atmosphere and help them complete their unique performances.
