Pianist Dimitris Kalantzis presents exquisite music of Manos Hadzidakis following his own way of expression. Arranger and instigator of the recent production titled “Mano's”, with a jazz approach, he combines his band with the strings of Kamerata. The aesthetic result is very interesting, and involves balancing the element of originality and the respect to the original material.
“Song is a moment of magic, and I 'm a magician representing you, since I was born at the same time with you and in the same place; I'll shed light on the hidden and invisible corners of your minds, I'll surprise you, I'll flood you with questions and with melodies that maybe will become yours and get transported to your home, so that your sleep is cut short and your peace of mind possibly lost forever. It doesn't matter if you are unable to sing my songs. As if you were able to make a bird disappear or make it appear again from inside your dress or your handkerchief! And yet, you don't forget that- you won't forget it for the rest of your life. And you will repeat what you saw to your children the same way you had seen it done, once, by a magician at a country fair- just like my song.” Manos Hadjidakis Text from the book “The Mirror and the Knife”
