The legendary musician was born on February 14, 1943, he is already 77 years old and has been making his own history in music for at least 50 years.
From the early years of his career, as he has said, he wanted his music to have a personal style.
Sometimes through his collaborations and sometimes through personal work he made his own sound.
"Maceo, blow your horn!" James Brown used to tell his favorite saxophone player to start playing, and he openly admitted that Parker was a real inspiration for him.
Prince had called him a "teacher".
Maceo Parker released many successful solo albums, such as “Roots Revisited”, which remained for 10 weeks at the top of the Jazz Charts in 1990 and the excellent “Mo 'Roots” in 1991.
