She began singing gospel in local churches in Mississippi in early 50s and continued with this kind of music, when her family moved to Chicago, when she was only 7 years old. She later became interested in R & B and was developed to be an important singer of blues.
She collaborated and played with legends such as Junior Wells, Bobby Rush, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Jimmy Dawkins and B.B. King.
She recorded with Willie Dixon, Sunnyland Slim, Mississippi Heat and others and has toured throughout the world and has appeared in major blues festivals.
Her acquaintance with Matthew Skoller was an important milestone in her career. They appeared together in major concerts and their cooperation was excellent. Skoller is a distinguished artist fully committed to the tradition of Chicago blues. With his sound he brings today the great legacy of Little Walter and of legendary Sonny Boy Williamson II.
