The driving force is the creative duo of Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux, two musicians/producers, who started their course in the French music scene through various schemes.
Their collaboration began in 1998, but the idea of Nouvelle Vague took shape in 2003. They decided to give a new timbre to the sounds of their adolescent age, presenting songs of that time - sometimes famous, sometimes less known to the audience - with plain acoustic orchestrations reminiscent of bossa nova, jazz and pop of 60's. In combination with ethereal female voices in vocals the resulted was a sound surprisingly fresh and invigorating, winning fans all over the world.
It is noteworthy that some of the musicians who have adapted their songs, have accepted their invitation and have sung with them the new versions of their songs. Ian Mc Culloch of Echo and the Bunnymen, Chris Bailey of Saints, Barry Adamson, Martin Gore of Depeche Mode are among them.
Nouvelle Vague invite us once again in their Christmas party. On vocals the two original singers of the band, Melanie Plain and Phoebe Killdeer.
