Born in Cuba, she spent her formative years in Senegal, Germany, Cape Verde and later in Paris. She wanted her music to be a reflection of the journey of her life.
In 2006 she released her first album titled “Navega” and caused a sensation.
In her recent work titled “Lovely Difficult” she draws a world map from her native Cape Verde to European pop. Mayra Andrade, 29 years old today, manages to touch her audience.
