Nick Gravenites played with young Elvin Bishop, Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield, while the South side greats Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Howlin 'Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Otis Rush were leading the way.
The Greek guitarist, singer and songwriter worked with and helped in the formation and the career of groups and artists such as Butterfield Blues Band, Mike Bloomfield, Quicksilver Messenger Service, John Cipollina, Janis Joplin.
He wrote songs such as “Born In Chicago” which was performed by Butterfield Blues Band and “Buried Alive In the Blues”, “Work Me Lord”, “As Good As You've Been” for Janis Joplin.
His name is induced in the Blues Hall of Fame for his song “Born in Chicago”. His discography is big, as is his history.
Nick “The Greek” Gravenites fascinates us with his concerts uniting the past with the present and his personal appearances are always special . In our country he cooperates with the Greek blues band Backbone, with whom he will appear again.
