She loved her songs and grew up with her. Joni Mitchell played a key role in her life, since she was in high school in New York and saw her singing for the first time. Almost 40 years later Elli Paspala decided to stage a birthday party, dedicated to the great Canadian singer and songwriter, who became 70 years old on November 7th and wish her happy birthday.
Since 1968 when Joni Mitchell released her first album, she has given music and lyrics that have deeply touched us and has inspired both ordinary people and other well known artists such as Prince, Herbie Hancock, Björk, ElvisCostello, K.D. Lang, Caetano Veloso and others. Always a restless mind, while her lyrics have been spontaneously poetic and personal with courageous and sharp social and political consciousness. In her music we find references in Jazz as well as in Folk and Rock.
Elli Paspala with five distinguished musicians, David Lynch ( saxophones ), Takis Farazis (piano ), George Limakis ( guitars ), Yiotis Kiourtsoglou ( electric bass) and Mihalis Kapilidis (drums ), who all have a great admiration for this great lady, will present songs that marked her artistic career.
