“Music is the only realised Utopia” according to the creator, main songwriter, musician and producer Martin Strathausen, who gave life to Tape Five with the help of an extraordinary group of musicians.
Ten years old he bought and learned guitar with his vinyl player note by note from Jimi Hendrix records. Music for him was communication and he loved to experiment, as we read on the site of Tape Five.
Internet made it possible to spread the music of the band around the world. The record deals start from America and end in Asia, while the group has one or more tracks on about 500 CD compilations and various personal records such as “Swing Patrol”, “Tonight Josephine” and others.
“If you don´t dance – no romance” from their song “Bad boy good man”.
Tape Five invite us on a merry party filled with the vitality of Swing, the aesthetics of Jazz, the dynamics of Electro data.
The evening will be opened by Penny & The Swingin’ Cats. The band started in late 2009 and has since made numerous appearances at festivals, music venues and bars in Athens. They have recorded their first album titled “RETRO”, while in May 2013 they formed “Penny & The Great Big Band” consisting of 20 musicians. They have performed with artists such as Parov Stelar, Marc Almond, Imany and Puppini Sisters.
