The young songwriter, born in Athens in 1990, learned her first songs on guitar from her mother at a very early age and has spent several hours a day listening to music. Her influences include Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons and Johnny Flynn. When completing her studies at the Law School in September 2012, she released her first album titled “Wrong Direction”. In this first recording attempt she signs the lyrics and music and the production and arrangement is made by Euripides Zemenides.
At the concert in the Garden, Irene Skylakaki with her band will present her own first songs including “In the light” with which she was first established, as well as adaptations of The Clash, Depeche Mode, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, Johnny Cash, Joan Baez etc.
She is accompanied by her band consisting of musicians Euripides Zemenides (guitars), Michalis Kalkanis (bass), Christos Petevis (violin), George Theodoropoulos (keyboards) and Thanos Michaelides (drums).
