“Welcome to my world, leave your tranquilizers at home, you don't need them anymore” we are told by Depeche Mode in the song “Welcome To My World” from their latest album “Delta Machine”.
We will soon welcome them to our country. This is the concert that we have been waiting for the last four years, but it had been postponed. This time Athens is one of the first stations of their European tour.
Depeche Mode since 1981, when they presented their first album “Speak and Spell” up to date, have sold millions of records and many of their songs have become big hits. The electronic band had its own way to become one of the most popular bands.
“I never liked the idea of writing happy songs myself. Happy go lucky songs don’t have the power to reach and touch you deep inside. They won’t stick. I feel closer to the universe writing or singing songs that deal with solitude or melancholy” words by Martin Lee Gore originally published in German ten years ago in 2003, which was reproduced in English recently at electronicbeats.net
