As a child he loved music and wanted to play, conduct and sing without limiting himself. French composer Michel Legrand from his album “I love Paris” in 1954 - when he was 22 years old - has never stopped writing music and giving concerts. For 59 years his melodies excite and fascinate.
He was fond of Jazz and collaborated with many different musicians like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones and others. He wrote more than 200 film, theater and television scores and was able to follow the image of many directors, such as Jacques Demy, Jean Luc Godard, Agnes Varda and others. His memorable movie theme music includes “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg”, “The Thomas Crown Affair”, “Summer of '42”. He won three Oscars, five Grammys and Medal Legion d' Honneur in 2003 by the French state in recognition of his contribution.
In February last year Michel Legrand having celebrated his 80th birthday and always having new ideas and projects decided to start a world tour with stops in France, UK, Armenia, Russia, Canada, Switzerland, Korea and USA. One of the stops is Greece.
