Janice Harrington & The Blues Cargo
Janice Harrington, singer of jazz , blues and gospel, has been initiated young to the tradition of Black American Music. She began her career in the 60's and in the next decade she collaborated with artists such as Sammy Davis Jr., Lloyd Bridges, Frank Sinatra Jr., Lionel Hampton. At the same time she became known as an actress playing in the series "Days of our lives".
In 1982 she was called to open the show for Joan Armatrading and in 1989 for BB King. She appeared with many musicians including Rockin Dopsie, Buddy Guy, Champion Jack Dupree and Luther Allison.
Blues Cargo has been one of the most original bands of the Athenian Blues scene for about 25 years. They have previously collaborated with Janice Harrington and have accompanied many artists such as Louisiana Red, Guitar Shorty, UP Wilson, Lurrie Bell, Big Time Sarah, Eddie C. Campbell and others.
