Al Di Meola followed in 1974 Chick Corea's band, Return to Forever. He had great collaborations in his personal career with Stanley Clarke, Jan Hammer, Jean Luc Ponty, the guitarists John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia, who together as a trio gave us memorable moments and artists such as Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Carlos Santana, Frank Zappa, Steve Winwood and others
Since 1976 and his first album “land of the midnight sun”, he was distinguished for his performance in guitar and his unique compositions. Today, after three decades in the music space, Al Di Meola combining passion and unrivaled technique has his own history, either through his own works or through partnerships, while continuing to create and search the sounds from world music.
The Cuban composer and pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts Havava while already playing in clubs and music halls. He toured in Cuba, France, Africa and created his own group “Grupo Proyecto”. In Havana he made his first recordings.
He has worked with musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Haden, Chucho Valdez and others and has received 15 Grammy nominations. Gonzalo Rubalcaba was invited as a pianist in the recent record production of Al Di Meola “Pursuit of Radical Rhapsody”.
