Iasis first appeared on the music scene in Athens in 1994. From their first steps in the Greek music scene, they presented a distinct sound and a route with bold and often unexpected collaborations. Types, classes and methods of music including improvisation, song, tradition, contemporary currents were for them excuses to open up new musical worlds. The dominant element in such a game was the physical strength of the composition.
The success of the first album “IASIS” in 1996 and the acceptance of the band in Greece was accompanied by an equally impressive track record in international markets and participation in important festivals.
So far they presented in 1998 the album “AMALGAMA” in collaboration with “Bulgarian Vocal Trio”. In this they create a wonderful amalgam of Greek, Balkan and Jazz music. In 1999 they released “Dance Mix” of the title track “Amalgam” and in 2002 the collection “Duente”.
