The vocal ensemble of Joyful Gospel Singers was formed in 1980 by Alfred and Loretta Caston and Jessie and Reginald Veal (former bassist of Wynton Marsalis). They have released 7 albums on independent production. Their music has the spirituals deep- rooted. Issues such as child slavery and oppression in some countries of the world, where the main issue is for people to live free from regimes and suffering, are a source of inspiration and a driving force behind the great artists.
Before the hurricane “Katrina” that struck New Orleans - the home town and seat of the group - they had already managed to tour in more than 1,000 cities, playing at festivals, clubs and even cathedrals. Their participation in the world famous Festival “New Orleans Jazz and Heritage” was the starting point, since many producers met them there and helped them gain international career. Since then the band has appeared in more than 50 concerts around the world each year and today they consist of Alfred Caston, Albert Mickel, Chandra Grayson, Angela Dunn and Jan Rudolph.
Hollywood alredy loved them and they have cooperated with Earth Wind & Fire, Yolanda Adams, Bryan Adams, Tony Bennett, Al Green and many others. Their lives are synonymous with positive energy and the audience will not let them escape from the scene. Returning to Greece after 13 years and at the right time they sing “if I had a hammer” and “people get ready”....
