The story of the band began in 1974. It was created in Netherlands by Henk Hofstede (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Rob Kloet (drums), Alex Roelofs (bass) and Michiel Peters (guitar, vocals).
In 1978 they released their first work “The Nits”. During the 80's they had a lot of good reviews. For their album “Henk” in 1986, a critic of the French magazine “Rock and Folk” wrote “whoever does not hear this album, will die stupid.”
Their music is a bridge between the sound of the 60's and bands like Kraftwerk and XTC. Many of their songs became hits, such as “Nescio”, “Sketches from Spain”, “In the Dutch Mountains”, “Adieu Sweet Banhoff”, “Three Sisters”, “The Distance” and others.
Since the beginning they have daily stories of interest to the whole world to tell and have formulated their personal style.
Their discography includes over 20 albums, most recently the “Malpensa”, released in March 2012.
The Dutch Nits were always particularly dear in Greece and have fans. Their concert will begin in Athens with the band Tango with Lions.
After the great feeling they made with their debut album “Verbatime”, Tango with Lions are preparing their second album which will be released in early 2013. They will accordingly take a short break from the studio and come onstage Gagarin's to present to us tunes from the work they are preparing.
