The oud player Alekos Vretos presents at the Half Note a mixture of Arab, jazz and latin music with several improvisations. The dominance of the bands and of improvisation are supported by the collaboration of musicians on stage. The result is an explosive atmosphere consisting of the pace of life, which all humans have within us.
The program includes compositions from his new CD “Mergin” and music of composers of Jazz and Arabic music, such as W. Shorter, A. Dinkjian, S. Shaheen and A. Brahem.
