Duke Ellington Orchestra is considered one of the major orchestras of the jazz world ,not only because it brings the sounds of the great Duke Ellington closer to the younger generation, but rather because it brings the music of Duke Ellington in the music of today.
Duke Ellington has been described as one of the greatest talents of the 20th century in the field of Jazz. He is the great composer who has created over 2000 tracks including the well known “take the a train” and “it don't mean a thing”.
This great artist and creator remained active until his death in New York on May 24th, 1974.However his death could not stop the continuation of the musical journey of sounds that were left in history.
