Trombone Shorty & The Orleans Avenue

“One of the most prominent trumpeters

I am his biggest fan”

                  Wynton Marsalis

Twenty five year old Troy Andrews, known as Trombone Shorty, is only the best New Orleans has to present lately. Before he has 7 years old, he was playing trombone in the streets and he enchanted with his music. He graduated from the famous New Orleans’ Performing Arts School and he played with accomplished musicians like Eric Clapton, Lenny Kravitz and others.

When he was only 18 years old he was proclaimed, for two subsequent years, by The New Orleans Premier Magazine, as the best trumpeter and performer. The next to accomplish such a nomination was Wynton Marsalis at 41. It seems there is no end to his accomplishments, as he is nominated for a Grammy Award as the best debutant artist in 2011.

When he was 23, he was acknowledged as unique artist in his kind and was looked up with awe not only by the audience but also by great artists.

Wynton Marsalis once said : “Troy has a unique combination of a great talent, superb technical skill and soul. I am his greatest fan”.
