Manu Dibango

The Lion of Africa returns 365 days later ... ...

Manu Dibango is not a famous musician, is a top-ranking musician. It is said to be the last living legend of Afro beat music along with Femi Kuti. The best way to entertain you, is to live the unique experience, which the incredible energy and passion of Manu Dibango provides. A great saxophone player creates sounds filled with afro beat-jazz-funk rhythms and ‘‘Soul Makossa’’ (Dance of the Soul).

It is difficult to limit to one music class only a historical figure like Manu Dibango. From the mid 50's until our times, Dibango left and continues to leave his personal stamp and he is rightfully defined as the greatest saxophonist who moved to the area of soul, reggae and jazz fusion music scene.

In his musical career he has collaborated up to now with artists like Myriam Makeba, Angelique Kidjo, Fela Kuti, Mori Kante, Richard Bona, Tony Allen and numerous other leading artists and groups of all kinds. Years ago he said that had he not recorded the Soul Makossa, simply the world would know less of him.

The bottom line is that Manu Dibango with his saxophone explosions and rhythm game in and out of the stage, gives the feeling that if he was not playing the saxophone, then the music world would be poorer.
