Barbara Luna was born in the small city Roque Perez in the province of Buenos Aires, where farms are at distance one from the other and people have a particular communication with nature and its wisdom. She began to sing and dance very early, while in her puberty she participated in provincial festivals. She started to study architecture, but very soon she realised that she loved the music.
The journalist of ‘‘Radio Nova’’ Remy Kolpa Kopoul – whom she met in 1997 when she lived and sang in Lyon - became the producer of her first work of ‘‘A la vida a la muerte’’ that circulated in 1998. Later other albums followed such as ‘‘India Morena’’ in 2001, ‘‘Somos’’ in 2005 and ‘‘Ruta 3’’ in 2009.
Barbara Luna was based on the music and poetry of her homeland, but was influenced by the sounds of all Latin America. She followed the roads of Amerindians of Argentina, the paths of milonga, she expressed herself with the passion of tango. Her contact with other cultures gave her the means to incorporate new sounds in her songs and travel us around the world.
Songwriter, guitar-player and performer based in France, appeared in festivals such as ‘‘ Womad’’ of Peter Gabriel, the French ‘‘Printemps de Bourges’’ and ‘‘Tempo Latino’’ in Vic-Fezensac and made a lot of tours. She loves our country and has her own public.
