The legendary scorpions of rock Klaus Meine (vocals), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), James Kottak (drums) and Pawel Maciwoda (bass) announced in their official site that with their new album titled “Sting in the Tail” they will bid farewell to their audience.
The album has been almost platinum, a fact that confirms that Scorpions, combining the strong and at times wild sound of electric guitar with sweet and melodic lyrics, remain in the heart of their fanatic audience. Although the album was born after approximately 30 years of discography, they state that they rank same among the best of their music route and they chose same to sing their swan song.
In an interview at GSFC at Ollympiahalle (8/5/2010) they explain the reasons they opt now for saying “this is it” and how they see the future up to the completion of their tour. They say they feel happy when they realize that they will fulfill the dream of every artist, namely to complete their music career in its peak. However they do not yet feel the “end” to approach as the farewell tour “World Tour, Get Your Sing And Blackout” is scheduled to run until 2013, leaving to all of us we love them the hope that we will see them again. They say that they have a very good time in their concerts and therefore there is no better way to say “this is it”.
The “World Tour, Get Your Sing and Blackout” has already begun with concerts all over the world. In Greece, with the fanatic Greek fans always by their side, the Scorpions have already performed three concerts at Ioannina, Patras and Thessaloniki and they are preparing for their last concert in our country at the Stadium of Peace and Friendship on 6th October. Let’s enjoy them.

“Good evening Athens” .... after the opening and title track from the band's last album, “Sting in the tail”, Klaus Meine, welcomes the audience in Athens that has overwhelmed the Peace and Friendship Stadium in another wonderful musical night, in the way we have been accustomed to by them .
“Bad boys”, “the zoo”, “holiday”, “the best is yet to come”, “Send me an angel”, “Loving you Sunday morning” were among others some of the beloved songs chosen by the Scorpions as a farewell to the Greek public who has supported them many times. In the “Wind of change” the whistling of Klaus Meine was joined by his fans who glorified him.
A special moment was the tribute that was projected in video wall featuring drummer James Kottak and had a historic regression to the band's albums “pure instinct”, “crazy world”, “animal magnetism”, “blackout” and others, while at the same time he was improvising playing solos in every instance. The enthusiasm of the public culminated in “Blackout”, one of the most important songs of the musical life of the band, loved also back in 1982 when released, as well as today.
Closing the concert, they could not leave without the classic “rock you like a hurricane” as a farewell song. The fan club that was a few meters away from the stage, gave the band a large banner that read “Goodbye Scorpions, Forever Young” along with some lyrics of their favorite songs and they wrapped themselves with it just before leaving for behind the scenes. However, with their tour lasting until 2013, we could not exclude the possibility of yet another sold out concert in our country.
